This is our money, for our schools. We should see where every dollar goes, and we should be the ones who decide. 

Frank will ensure we spend the money on our classrooms first, not on consultants and more administrators. And when we build and fix our schools, the work goes to union workers on every job. Good schools and good jobs for our community. 

As a union leader and fighter with experience bringing working people together to win what we deserve, Frank will work alongside parents, students, educators, staff and unions to build the future of South City schools.

Our kids do better when the same teachers, aides, counselors, and campus staff stay year after year. But South City educators keep getting denied longevity raises. The district’s teacher-salary share of spending has fallen significantly over the last four years.

Frank will put educators first in the budget and ensure they are paid wages that allow them to live and thrive in South City. We will stop growing the front office faster than we grow the support that students need - keeping good educators is how we keep our kids' schools strong and strengthen our whole city.

Class sizes in South City have been going the wrong way. Students learn better when the class sizes are smaller. Holding class size to eighteen or fewer students in grades K–3 produces significant benefits in both reading and math, with the greatest impacts on Black, Latino, and students from low-income backgrounds. 

Smaller classes are a choice about priorities, not a luxury. But in South City, the Board’s staffing and money choices haven't put class size first - it has been cutting staff and making classes bigger. 

Frank will fight to bring class sizes down, beginning with the grades and the schools that need it most. 

More than one in three of our students in Area E is still learning English - 1.7 times the rest of the district -  and they are still waiting for the resources they need. They deserve real support, not just a couple of aides stretched across a whole school. 

Frank is a 10-year bilingual teacher. He knows exactly what English-learning students need. Every school that needs a full program for English learners should have one, and Frank will fight to put resources where they are needed the most. 

Paper resolutions aren’t enough - the fear in our school communities about ICE is real, and it is growing. 

Frank will push for a binding safe-schools policy. No ICE in our classrooms without a warrant signed by a judge, every staff member trained on how to respond, and a channel we can trust that gives our families the facts instead of rumors. Frank has already helped win protections like these for thousands of families. We will win them in South City!
